ITINERARY:

Day 1 Depart Canada

You will depart from Canada on a non-stop flight to Beijing, during which you will cross the International Date Line (I.D.L.) and fly over the North Pole. The entire journey will take about 11 – 12 hours.

 

Day 2 Beijing

You are transferred by private vehicle to centre located hotel. The hotel is within a few minutes walking distance to Wangfujing Street.

Day 3 Beijing (BBF);

Day 4 Beijing / Xi’an (BBF, L);

A four hours high-speed train will bring you to the ancient Tang Dynasty capital, Xian. You then explore Xi’an. The tour program will include Ancient City Wall,  the most complete and largest ancient city wall system that has survived in China. Proceed to Grand Mosque, which is one of the oldest and largest Islamic mosques in China. Its unique architecture beautifully blends traditional Chinese temple styles with classic Islamic functionality. Take a walk to Muslin Street. This vibrant, bustling neighborhood is the cultural and culinary heart of Xi’an’s Hui Muslim community.

Day 5 Xi’an (BBF, L);

Your second day in Xian begins with the viewing of the extraordinary 2,300-year old terra-cotta warriors, the tomb of China’s first emperor, Qinshihuang. The warriors still stand at the original site of the emperor’s burial complex; where they were discovered by peasants in 1974. After visit Xi’an Museum which provides a comprehensive look at the city’s long history, from its ancient origins to its time as the capital of multiple dynasties.

 

Day 6 Xi’an / Dunhuang (BBF);

An afternoon flight will bring you to Dunhuang – a city located in the northwest desert of Gansu Province, this 2,000-year -old town was once a thriving centre of Buddhist monasticism. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your local guide and transferred to visit Crescent Moon Spring and Singing Sand Dunes, which is a stunning natural oasis where a crescent-shaped lake resides amidst towering sand dunes that “sing” when the wind blows.

Day 7 Dunhuang (BBF, L);

Whole day explore Dunhuang. You will visit Yardang National Geopark. It features a dramatic, otherworldly landscape of wind-eroded rock formations, often called a “ghost city.” Han Dynasty Great Wall at Yumen Pass. Historic ruins marks a key gateway on the ancient Silk Road and remnants of the Great Wall’s western sections. Visit Shazhou Night Market in the evening. The night market is a vibrant local market perfect for experiencing Dunhuang’s cuisine, culture, and crafts.

 

Day 8 Dunhuang – Liuyuan – Turpan (BBF, L);

Today will explore the Mogao Caves which cut into the steep cliffs at the edge of the desert. The Mogao Caves contain thousands of Buddhist murals and statuaries, and constitute one of the world’s great repositories of religious art. UNESCO listed the Mogao Caves as a World Heritage Site in 1987.
Afterwards, you will be transferred to Liuyuan and take a train to exotic Turpan. Upon arrival, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel.

Day 9 Turpan (BBF, L);

Start the day with a visit to Jiaohe Ruins, which is currently the largest and oldest earth city in the world. The remains you see today was descended from the Tang Dynasty. Most of them are well preserved due to the high location and dry climate. Afterwards, you’ll visit the Tuyuk Valley where you can choose to have a traditional Uyghur lunch (optional, at your own expenses). In the afternoon, drive to the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves, which is situated on the west cliffs of the Wood Valley of the Flaming Mountains. Learn about the development and history of the Buddhism in this region from the colorful murals and other precious art works. On the way back stop for a visit to the Flaming Mountains where the temperature on the surface reaches 47.8 C (118.04 F) in the hottest summer, hence the name. Stay overnight in Turpan.

 

Day 10 Turpan / Urumqi (BBF, L);
Morning visits the Karez Well is an ancient irrigation system in Turpan, with a long history of 2,000 years. These wells are made up of vertical wells, underground canals, above-ground canals and small reservoirs. Continue your railway journey to Urumqi in Western China, capital of the Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region. Upon arrival, you’ll be able to rest and refresh on your own and you may take a walk at the Xinjiang Grand Bazaar, where you’ll find everything from entertainment to local fare and unique goods from different cultures in and around the region.

Day 11 Urumqi (BBF, L);

You’ll take a day trip to Heavenly Lake, where you can relax and reenergize over the pristine waters. Late afternoon get back to Urumqi and visit the Xinjiang Museum; with over 50,000 pieces, this astonishing collection will give you rare insight into this fascinating culture.    

 

Day 12 Urumqi / Chengdu (BBF);

Take a flight to Chengdu, the capital city of Sichuan province. Founded by the Kingdom of Shu in the 4th century BC, Chengdu is unique as the only Chinese settlement that has maintained its name unchanged throughout the imperial, republican, and communist eras for more than two thousand years. It was the capital of Liu Bei’s Shu Han Empire during the Three Kingdoms Era, as well as several other local kingdoms during the Middle Ages. Upon arrival, you will meet your local tour guide for your transfer to the hotel.

Day 13 Chengdu (BBF, L)

You will have a whole day to explore Chengdu. You will visit Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. The premier destination to see China’s iconic giant pandas in a naturalistic setting. It focuses on conservation, research, and public education, offering visitors the best chance to observe these rare animals up close, especially during their active morning feeding times. You will have the chance to immerse yourself in the city’s famously laid-back and social lifestyle by taking a cup of tea in a local park.  Take a walk to Kuanzhai Alley, a beautifully restored historical area consisting of three parallel alleys: the Wide Alley, the Narrow Alley, and the Well Alley. It’s a vibrant blend of old Chengdu charm and modern cultural life.

 

Day 14 Chengdu / Zhangjiajie (BBF, L);

Take a morning high-speed train to Zhangjiajie. Upon arrival in Zhangjiajie, be greeted by local guide and start your exploration to Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park. Tianmen Mountain, revered as the “Soul of Zhangjiajie” and one of the most sacred mountains in China, offers a dramatically different but equally breathtaking experience. Its name, “Tianmen,” meaning “Heaven’s Gate,” comes from the colossal natural arch cave near its summit—a 131.5-meter (431-foot) high tunnel that appears as a gateway to the heavens. This mountain is not just a natural wonder but a masterpiece of modern engineering, allowing visitors to experience its grandeur in thrilling ways.

Day 15 Zhangjiajie (BBF, L);

Today’s highlights: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianzi Mountain (uphill cable car included) and Yuanjiajie Scenic Area (downhill Bailong Elevator included).

Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in China, is famous for its

thousands of towering quartzite sandstone pillars, lush valleys, and misty skies, which famously inspired the scenery of the movie Avatar.

Tianzi Mountain: Offers panoramic views of the park’s peaks rising from a sea of clouds, often

described as the “Monarch of the Peak Forest.”

Yuanjiajie Scenic Area: Home to the “Avatar Hallelujah Mountain” (Southern Sky Column), which was officially renamed after the film. This area offers stunning views from its high plateaus.

 

Day 16 Zhangjiajie / Shanghai (BBF, L);

You will visit Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, which is the world’s highest and longest glass-bottom bridge, offering a thrilling walk with vertigo-inducing views of the stunning canyon below. After your day tour, you will be transferred to take the evening flight to Shanghai. Upon arrival in Shanghai, you will be greeted by your local guide and transferred to your hotel.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:

 

  1. Your non-refundable deposit for LAND PORTION is due immediately on booking (minimum $1,500 / per person). The balance is due 60 days prior to departure.
  2. For cancellations of confirmed bookings 60 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus deposit and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.
  3. Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
  4. Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
  5. Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
  6. Payment of the program price constitutes your acceptance of the terms and conditions;
  7. Living Standards and practices at destination may differ from those in North America with respect to provisions of utilities, services and accommodation.
  8. China Travel Service (Canada) Inc., acts solely as agents for the client with respect to all transportation, hotel and other tour arrangements. In that capacity, China Travel Service (Canada) Inc. exercises all reasonable care possible to ensure the traveler’s safety and satisfaction, but, China Travel Service (Canada) Inc. neither assumes nor bears any responsibility or liability for any injury, death, damage, loss, accident, delay, or irregularity arising in connection with the services of any airplane, train, ship, automobile, motor coach, carriage, or other conveyance, or the actions of any third-party involved in carrying the traveler or in affecting these tours.

China Travel Service (Canada) Inc. is not responsible for damages, additional expenses, or any other losses due to cancellation, delay or other changes in air or other services, sickness, weather, strike, war, civil disturbances, acts or threats of terrorism, travel warnings or bans, termination or suspension of war risks or other carrier insurance, quarantine, acts of God or other causes beyond its control. All such losses must be borne by the traveler, and tour rates provide for arrangements only for the time stated.
  10. China Travel Service (Canada) Inc. is not responsible for delays, changes or cancellation costs due to incorrect, incomplete or expired traveler documents.
  11. In the event of cancellation, delay or rescheduling mandated by any of the aforesaid causes beyond China Travel Service (Canada) Inc.’s’ control, the passenger shall have the option of accepting in lieu of the original tour such rescheduled tour or other substituted tour(s) as may be offered, or else, receiving a refund of as much of such advance tour expenditures as China Travel Service (Canada) Inc. can recover on the traveler’s behalf from carriers, Cruise(s), third-party tour vendors, hotels, etc., but, China Travel Service (Canada) Inc. shall not have any obligation or liability to the traveler beyond the foregoing.
  12. China Travel Service (Canada) Inc. reserves the right to make alterations to the tours itinerary and to substitute hotels, vehicles, ships, or activities if this is required.
  13. China Travel Service (Canada) Inc. reserves the right to cancel, delay, or reschedule any tour prior to departure, and, so long as this is not due to any of the aforesaid causes beyond our control, the passenger shall be entitled to a full refund of all monies paid to that point if he/she so desires, less any non-refundable deposits or uncollectible expenses incurred.
  14. In addition and without limitation, China Travel Service (Canada) Inc. is not responsible for any injury, loss, death, inconvenience, delay or damage to personal property in connection with the provision of any goods or services whether resulting from but not limited to acts of God or force majeure, illness, disease, acts of war, civil unrest, insurrection or revolt, animals, strikes or other labor activities, criminal or terrorist activities of any kind, overbooking or downgrading of services, food poisoning, mechanical or other failure of aircraft or other means of transportation or for failure of any transportation mechanism to arrive or depart on time.
  15. Risks: There are certain inherent risks in adventure travel of the type involved here. These include, but are not limited to, hiking, walking safaris, climbing injuries and altitude sickness, and in all trip’s dangers of animals, inaccessibility to medical attention and difficulty in evacuation from remote locations in the case of a medical emergency. Passenger assumes all such risks with regard to these possibilities.
