Day 1 Beijing/ Lhasa (D)
A morning flight will bring to “The City on Roof of the World” – Lhasa (“the Holy Land” in Tibetan language). Sitting 3,700 meters above sea level, Lhasa is a cultural city with a history of more than 1,300 years. It is also known as the solar city because it has longer time of sunshine. You will take the self-arranged transfer to HOTEL where you may acclimatize to the 12,000-foot altitude. Dinner will be arranged at local restaurant.

Day 2 Lhasa (ABF, L, D) Norbu Lingka & Potala Palace
This morning, you will meet your local tour guide in the hotel lobby & begin your tour from Norbu Lingka, which lies in the western suburbs of Lhasa. Built in the 1840s, it served as summer residence of the 7th Dalai Lama. Expansion since then has made it the present scale. The New Palace reflects the architectural style of palace, monastery and villa. On holidays, locals clad in the best costume sing and dance day and night here. In the afternoon, you will visit the Potala Palace, which was built in the early 7th century, the palace stands on the Red Mountain in the west of old Lhasa City. The 13-story structure is 117.19 m high and consists of the Red Palace a stupa hall for Dalai Lamas of dynasties and White Palace for the living quarters of the Dalai Lamas and offices of the local government. It has become Tibet’s largest museum of cultural relics under key protection of the state.
Day 3 Lhasa – Yam Lake – Gyantse (ABF, L, D)
This morning, you will begin your Tibetan Adventure Journey with a private Jeep. The first stop on this journey will be at Lake Yamzhog Yum, one of the three holy lakes in Tibet. It has an area of 638 square kilometres and is 4,000 meters above sea level. The lake area is a scenic spot with snow-capped mountains, islands, pastureland, hot springs, wild animals and plants, and monasteries. It is where the Yamzhog Yum Pumping Station, the highest of its kind in the world, is located. It is also a home for some species birds that could sparsely founded on the earth. Continue your trip to Gyantse – another ancient culture city in Tibet. * Lhasa – 100km about 1.5 hours driving – Yam Lake – about 300km about 5.5 hours driving – Gyantse

Day 4 Gyantse –Shigatse (ABF, L, D)
Today, you will first visit the Pelkhor Chode (Baiju) Monastery, known for its Kumbum (10,000 images) Stupa. It was built by Yaodan Gongsangpa and Tsongkhapa’s disciple Khedrub Je in 1418. Its unique feature is that three sects, the Sa-kya-pa, Ka-tam-pa, and Ge-lug-pa, had their headquarters in it – a rare phenomenon in Tibet. It attracts numerous visitors with its unique architectural style, and sculptures and paintings. Day 5 Shigatse – Old Tangri (ABF, L, D)
Shigatse, a 500-year-old cultural city 3,800 meters above sea level, is another headquarters of the Pancen Erdeni and is located to the north of the world-renowned Mt. Qomolangma. Visit Tashilumpo Monastery, one of the four main monasteries of the Ge-lug-pa Sect. It covers nearly 300,000 square meters in area and was built in 1447 by the Tsongkhapa’s disciple Gedun Truppa, who late became the first Dalai. The monastery enshrines a gilded-bronze Buddha of Qiangba, the largest of its kind in the world. And the Maitreya Buddha statue made from 614 pounds of pure gold.
In the afternoon, keep driving for about 130 Km to Old Tingri. On the way, you will pass the Gyatsola Pass, which is 5252 meters above sea level, from where you can see Mt. Qomolangma [Mt. Everest] on a clear day. Tonight, you will spend the night in a local hotel. * Shigatse – 280km (about 10 hours driving – the toughest day due to road condition) – Old Tangri

Day 6 Old Tangri – Rongpu Temple – Mt. Everest (ABF, L, D)
After 60 Km driving distance, you will arrive in Tingri Village from where you can enjoy a full view of Mt. Qomolangma [Mt. Everest], which seems close in sight but some 70 Km of actual distance. After you climb up to the summit of the Lablungla Pass, which is 5124 meters high, the whole range of the Himalayan seems emerging fromt eh horizon below. The beautiful Shisha Pangma stands silhouetting against the blue skies to the south east of the pass. You will accommodate at a guest house close to Rongbu Temple. * Old Tangri – 100km about 2.5 hours driving – Rongpu Temple (you have lots of free time today, may visit Mt. Everest Camp)

Day 7 Old Tangri / Shigatse (ABF, L, D)
After crossing over the Younongla Pass, you will pay a visit to the famous Sakya Monatary. Sakya Monnastery-the center of the Sakya Sect of Tibetan Buddhim is 143 Km to the South West of Shigatze, it stands in two parts on either side of Dongchu River. The Monastery was found on 1073 by Konchok Gyelpo of the powerful Khon family. The influential position of this family can be traced back to the times of the early king of Tibet, when Khon Palpoche appears as a minister of King Trisong Detsen. The Sakya Sect once ruled the whole of Tibet under the Yuan Dynasty’s supervision. The monastery has great influence over the Tibetan history and cultural development. The State Council of China has classified it the national level protected monument. Owing to its valuable and Voluminous amount of Buddhist sutras and cultural remains, the monastery is often considered as “the Dun Huang the second”.
Day 8 Shigatse / Lhasa (ABF, L, D)
You will spend most of the morning time on road for your back to Lhasa trip, upon arrival, tour the golden-roofed Jokhang Monastery, which was first constructed in 647 in the old section of Lhasa. Your whole day will ended with a stop at Barkhor Street, essentially a pilgrim circuit round the periphery of the Jokhang Monastery and a hive of market activity.
Day 9 Lhasa (ABF, L, D)
Continue your unfinished tour in Lhasa due to any unpredictable circumstances on the road, or a total free day with vehicle and tour guide, or just by your own.
Day 10 Lhasa / Beijing (ABF)
You will be escorted to the Lhasa Airport for your early morning flight to Beijing and connect your international flight homeward.
